Scotch Doubles Rules of Play
- Each team is comprised of two players.
- This is a six-end game played with six rocks.  Each player throws three rocks.

- Each player must throw lead rocks for three ends and skip rocks for three ends. This can be done in whichever order the team chooses, but must be decided prior to delivering the first rock at start of each game and remains locked in for the respective game.

- Sweeping is allowed only after the rock crosses the far hog line and only by the player in the house.  Opposing skip may sweep behind T-line.

- The free guard zone is two rocks meaning the first two rocks thrown, if guards, are protected.

- Initial Team matching and their respective ice positions are by simple lottery.
- Subsequent game match-up by ranked points earned.

- Standard Scoring applies. A blank is a blank.  Ties are ties.
- Points Earned:  Win- 10; Loss – 0; Tie – 5; Ends – 2; Rocks – 1 max 10.
- Final standings by points earned over five games.  Ties in rankings are determined by the “Tie Breaker Rule”.

 - “The Tie Breaker Rule”:  At end of the first game each team member throws one rock (1 in turn; 1 out turn) to the button with one sweeper after far hog line.  This total will be used for breaking ties in the standings.
- Tie-Breaker Scoring System: Rock stops in contact with button- 5 points; In contact with 4 foot – 4 points; In contact with 8 foot – 3 points; In contact with 12 foot – 2 points; In play but not touching rings – 1 point; Out of play – 0 points.

- Sparing rule: spare is to replace at same ranked level or one above/below.

- Play time is about 1hour 30 minutes.
